Emergency repairs will trigger the closure of ramps that ferry northbound 15 Freeway drivers to the westbound and eastbound 91 Freeway in Corona on Wednesday, Nov. 4, just after the peak morning commute, according to a Caltrans news release.
The closure, which also will shut the Magnolia Avenue on-ramp to northbound 15, is scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Caltrans spokeswoman Terri Kasinga said the closure is needed to fix damage caused when a semi-truck slammed into the northbound-15-to-westbound-91 bridge around 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, taking out 50 feet of railing.
Kasinga said the accident closed the No. 4 and 5 lanes on northbound 15 and the connector to westbound 91 for nearly three hours.
Drivers are urged to plan ahead and add time to commutes. Motorists can take Magnolia Avenue to McKinley Street to reach the 91 Freeway, or exit at Hidden Valley Parkway and head south on the 15 to reach the 91.
