19-year-old man injured in shooting at The Outlets at Orange

A 19-year-old man was injured Friday night in a shooting at The Outlets at Orange, police said.

The man who shot him shortly before 9 p.m. remains at large, Orange Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Phil McMullin said Saturday.

The shooter wore gray sweatpants and a black long-sleeve shirt and fled on foot, police said. His approximate age was not available.

The victim, an Orange resident, was struck once in the leg, police said. He was taken to a local hospital by “associates,” McMullin said.

Additional information was scarce, but McMullin said the shooting occurred in the northern part of the mall.

The shooting apparently stemmed from an altercation in a group of men, police said in a statement. There was no subsequent threat to the mall.

Authorities urge anyone with information to contact them at 714-744-7444.
