Coronavirus: 124 new cases reported in Orange County, 23,285 tested as of April 25

The Orange County Health Care Agency reported 1,969 confirmed cases of the coronavirus as of Saturday, April 25.

Two new deaths were reported, raising the total number of people who have died to 38 in the county. The county’s report said 24 of 25 hospitals reported in with stats for the daily update.

There were 124 new cases of the virus reported in Saturday’s report. The most of any report by the county to date.

The daily update noted another 1,202 people were tested a day after a record high of 1,267 people getting tested in a day for COVID-19. Some 23,285 people have been tested to date – that works out to about 72.3 residents per 10,000. Orange County has more than 3.2 million people.

This report showed the sixth consecutive day that more than 600 people were tested and just the third day that more than 1,200 tests were done.

On Friday, San Diego County with a population of about 3.3 million had 2,826 cases and 102 deaths reported. Los Angeles County with 10 million people had 18,517 cases and 848 reported deaths.
