Disturbing video shows man wanted for kicking, hurting small dog in Anaheim

Authorities are still looking for the man who was caught on video repeatedly kicking a dog in Anaheim over the weekend.

It happened in the 800 block of North Brookhurst Street around 8 a.m. on Sunday, April 7.

In the video, a dog can be heard yelping as the man appears in the distance riding a bicycle. He gets off the bicycle and walks beside a fence while holding a small dog in one hand and the bicycle in the other hand.

He lets go of the bicycle, walks forward, drops the dog and punts the animal. He is seen kicking the dog again as he goes out of view. It sounds like he is still hurting the dog because it continues to loudly yelp and cry.

Warning: The following video is disturbing.

“Detectives are looking to identify the man and are searching for him and the dog,”  Anaheim Police Sgt. Jon McClintock said. “We believe the suspect frequents the area of Brookhurst Street and the 5 Freeway, possibly nearby homeless encampments.”

Police believe the man may be homeless.

Anaheim Police and Orange County Animal Care are investigating.

Detectives asked anyone with information about the case or the man and his whereabouts to call the Anaheim Police Department at 714-765-1900 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS.
