Fire in Lake Forest condo injures 2

Two people were taken to a hospital after a fire struck a second-story unit in a Lake Forest condominium complex, authorities said.

The fire was reported at 8:25 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, in the 20700 block of El Toro Road, Orange County Fire Authority officials said.

The flames were out in 16 minutes, officials said.

Firefighters rescued two residents who had trouble escaping because of falling debris and smoke, officials said. They were treated at the scene then taken to a hospital.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
