Long Beach’s Prism Boutique Opens Its First O.C. Location at The Lab

“I feel like (The Lab) goes with our aesthetic really well,” Prism Boutique owner Dayna Mance says about her
new store. “This is where my roots are; I feel at home
in Orange County.”

Mance decided to open her first O.C. outpost in August after the success of Prism’s pop-up earlier this year with Amuse Society. “We definitely knew we had an Orange County customer because women were coming (to the pop-up) almost every day from somewhere in O.C.,” she says. The pop-up stayed open a month longer than planned.

With arched, pale-wood racks and light pink and copper accents throughout the store, Mance’s inspiration from her previous work at Anthropologie is evident in the boutique’s decor. Once known for bohemian-style clothing, Prism has expanded to include a variety of styles. “We’re definitely fashionable (and) influenced by trends, but we also like to have great staple and basic pieces that aren’t too wild or too edgy,” she says. “We also have very small, local brands (such as Novella Royale and Knot Sisters).” Mance and her team periodically search for vintage pieces at the Long Beach Flea Market and vintage warehouses.

Need ideas for your holiday shopping? “Our gift-giving selection is pretty awesome—lots of apothecary ($18 to $78), candles ($9 to $48), ceramics ($14 to $334), small specialty items ($18 to $98), and, of course, a really wide variety of jewelry ($18 to $198).”
