The pilot of a single-occupant aircraft reportedly managed to escape injury after the plane crashed into a fence in a neighborhood near the Compton/Woodley Airport on Sunday afternoon.
Only minor property damage resulted from the crash, which occurred around 1:50 p.m., according to Los Angeles Police Sgt. Mark Romero. No one on the ground was injured.
Details about the pilot, the plane and the exact location of the crash were not immediately available.

Officials from the Compton Fire Department and the airport could not be reached for additional information.
The airport is located in south Los Angeles County and offers flight training, as well as personal flying services.
In March 2019, a flight student was killed and an instructor was injured in a collision between two small planes at the airport.
