This week at the OC Fair, July 27-31

Headed to the OC Fair this week? Here are some things to know.

General information:

  • Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays,  11 a.m. to midnight Fridays through Sundays; and the fair is closed Mondays and Tuesdays
  • General admission is $12 on Wednesdays and Thursdays and $14 Fridays through Sundays; tickets are $7 every day for children 6-12 and seniors 60 and older.
  • Tickets must be purchased ahead online at ocfair.com. Daily attendance is capped at 45,000 people and may sell out on popular days.
  • Parking is $10
  • Use Gate 1 on Fair Drive, which is the main gate, for Uber/Lyft/taxi drop-off and pickup

Things to do:

  • Frank Thurston, a fair favorite for more than 25 year, does an interactive magic show for kids a 1, 4 and 6 p.m. daily on the OC Promenade Stage.
  • Enjoy the All-Alaskan Racing Pigs at various times in the Plaza Pacifica starting at 2 p.m. Wednesdays-Fridays and 12:20 p.m. weekends. Seating is first come.
  • Catch live, free entertainment throughout the day at the Plaza Stage, Meadows Stage and OC Promenade Stage.
  • Kids can explore, learn, have fun and take a break from the sun in the Explorium.
  • There will be a special exhibit in the livestock area of dairy goats and KuneKune hogs through July 31.
  • The Tupua Polynesian Dance Group wows audiences the Samoan flaming fire knife dance and other traditional performances at throughout the evening daily at the Plaza Pacifica Stage.
  • Learn about milking a cow at 2:15, 4:15 and 6:15 each day in the Millennium Barn and then wander around and enjoy the barnyard animals that live at the Centennial Farm.

Playing at the Hangar (requires a ticket purchased in advance, but includes fair admission):

  • July 27: The Cured, a Cure tribute, at 8:15 p.m.
  • July 28: 24K Magic, a Bruno Mars tribute, at 8:15 p.m.
  • July 29: Dog N Butterfly, a Heart tribute, 8:15 p.m.
  • July 30: Twisted Gypsy, a Fleetwood Mac tribute, at 8:15 p.m.
  • July 31: STYXology, a STYX tribute, at 8 p.m.

Playing at the Pacific Amphitheatre (requires a ticket purchased in advance, but includes fair admission):

  • July 27: Counting Crows with Deavid Rosales and His Band of Scoundrels at 7:30 p.m.
  • July 28: The Offspring, Agent Orange and Love Canal at 7 p.m.
  • July 29: Brett Eldredge and Nate Smith at 7:30 p.m.
  • July 30: Closed
  • July 31: J Book, The Green, The Expendables and FIA at 5 p.m.

In the Action Sports Arena (reserved seating available, the ticket includes fair admission, also some limited access first come):

  • July 27: Closed
  • July 28: Closed
  • July 29: Orange Crush Demolition Derby at 8 p.m.
  • July 30: Damsels of Destruction Demolition Derby at 8 p.m.
  • July 31: Orange Crush Demolition Derby at 8 p.m.
